RATING
Season 1 was great, 5 stars. Acting, production, plot - all great. Season 2 was a decidedly giant step back. Still enjoyable to listen to I suppose, but there was tons of filler, way too much exposition, and it wrapped up abruptly in the last ten minutes or so. A bummer that so many podcasts do this towards the end, they can never wrap it up well.
Kelly Marie Tran knocks it out of the park. Both seasons are spectacular.
This a full package sort of fiction podcast. The performances are great (go Kelly Marie Tran!), the writing is tight, the sound design immersive, and the mystery incredibly demanding.
This has been really good so far. Captivating and DOESN'T slide into YA territory as some fiction podcasts can. Good audio. Quality writing, decent acting. Can't wait for season II!!!
Season 1 was very exciting, season 2 not so much. It just got weird.
Exciting! I just hope it returns.
Can't wait for season 2 coming (Spring?) 2021, per google search...please now more than ever, please, please, please don't let me down for this instance, google search. :-)
Drags a little, but over all very good!
A really good fiction podcast, well scripted and great sound design. Gripping throughout - the TV series will be interesting!
Superb suspense filled podcast with brilliant voice acting. Can't wait for season 2 which is coming soon
that was good. well-produced, keeping you on your toes thriller drama that was slowly unraveling episode by episode. to form my full opinion, I'd have to listen to second season when it comes out, because so far it feels good but unfinished
The two stars are both for the quality of the acting which was great. But the story was poorly written, both narratively as well as technically.Even the basic parts about what can cause a plane to disappear wouldn't survive a 5-minute review by a pilot. The epidemiological episode was also pretty cringeworthy. Same with air traffic dialogue. The arc of the story over the two stories was very uneven. It seemed like they didn't know how many seasons they had and just kinda kept writing episodes for a quota. The finale felt rushed and inconsistent with the rest of the series.
A fun mystery well-acted
A great podcast for those who appreciate shows like LOST.
One of the first audio dramas that I listened to, Passenger List really cemented my love of the genre. The voice acting is top-notch, the story is suspenseful and the emotional stakes are high. Highly recommend.
Passenger List has become one of the most successful and renowned audio fictions and it deserves such a status. As a bigger budget production it has a higher expectation put upon it and it doesn't disappoint.Passenger List follows Kaitlin, the sister of a passenger on board Atlantic Flight 702, as she investigates the mysterious disappearance of the plane. While plane mysteries have been done before, Passenger List at least offers a new approach by not focusing on the travellers. Kaitlin is sucked deeper and deeper into what she believes to be a conspiracy and soon finds herself in danger.Throughout her search for the truth Kaitlin meets friends and family of the missing passengers and experts in various fields. Most of these characters are diverse and vivid, well rounded despite only appearing for a few minutes here or there. Kelly Marie Tran performs the main character well, juggling a range of emotions and problems and conveying each with a relatable realism.Radiotopia certainly produced a hit with Passenger List. Two great seasons have been and gone and hopefully there is more to come.
This kept bumping up against my willing suspension of disbelief. It was difficult for me to believe that so many people, including family members of the passengers who would have been harassed non-stop by reporters and conspiracy nuts, would willingly give up their privacy to talk to a person who claimed to be a journalist or friend and likes to ask insulting questions, without so much as a Google search first. If you can get past that, the plot's still a pile of scattered red herrings and a weak sequel hook. The show tries to thread a line between how far is too much conspiracy nuttery and how far can you trust official statements. The trouble is that various conspiracy theories are picked up and dropped once per episode in repetitive fashion and that lack of commitment presents a more compelling case for a lack of a conspiracy. It doesn't help that the heavy foreshadowing means you already know what plot thread is going to be most important, making the early episodes feel like pointless filler, while also making you wonder about a person who seems to be deliberately focusing her attention where she won’t find answers.
If you are looking for a short podcast, this one would be too long for you. What I like about this podcast is that over all episodes new characters appear and it is mostly exciting. The audio quality is not the best, but you can understand everything. I would recommend this podcast to people who like to listen to a longer, but still exciting podcast and definitely to older teenagers, because they can compare the podcast with their lives and appreciate what they have.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
This show relies heavily on recorded audio files - but it works brilliantly, adding tension and emotion to the story. It´s heartbraking, the grief is tangible, and everything feels very authentic. Outstanding acting and production makes this a must-listen.
`for me i thought passenger list was a very interesting podcast and had a lot of intensity. there were a lot of moments where i was on the edge of my seat. for me there where also a coupl downs which is why it did not get the five star rating. for me at times i thought it was slow through some moments and did not have the action i was wanting. but overall good podcast highly recomend.
